Engineers Australia is the largest and most diverse professional body for engineers in Australia. If you wish to work as an Engineer in Australia and apply for the Employer Nomination Scheme or any Skilled Visa, your application will need to include a dedicated skills assessment to be provided by the Engineers Australia institution.

The occupational categories recognised by Engineers Australia are:

• Professional Engineer
  • Academic qualification required: Australian four year Bachelor of Engineering degree following twelve years of schooling, or overseas equivalent.
    Bachelor degree
• Engineering Technologist
  • Academic qualification required: Australian three year Bachelor of Engineering Technology degree following twelve years of schooling, or overseas equivalent
• Engineering Associate
  • Academic qualification required: Australian two year Advanced Diploma of engineering following twelve years of schooling, or overseas equivalent
• Engineering Manager
  • Bachelor degree or higher qualification required
  • Must have a record of senior management over a period of five years or more
  • Letters of reference and organisational charts must be provided
